About six years after the debut of its initial generation, Kia has reinvented the Niro for a new generation of drivers with lots of technology, more internal room and adaptability than ever before, and an upmarket cabin that offers a distinctive, multimodal luxury experience.

The second generation Kia Niro, which takes design cues from the HabaNiro concept car, will be powered by a hybrid system that combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a 32-kW The electric vehicle produces 139 power and torque and 195 pound-feet of torque. The 2023 Niro will also have a plug-in hybrid configuration that comprises the hybrid engine, an 11.1-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, and a 62-kW electric motor for a total of 180 horsepower. The standard engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox, while the plug-in hybrid model features a six-speed automatic and a 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a range of about 30 miles on electric power alone.
