Is the Suzuki Swift a good car?
If you're looking for a fun little hatchback that's affordable and roomy enough to carry five adults on short trips the Suzuki Swift is well worth a look.
Not only is the Suzuki Swift very roomy for a small car but it also looks kind of nice. Its cool contrasting door posts make the roof appear to hover over the rest of the car and - if you squint a little - Suzuki has something The Swift's sporty nose is reminiscent of the Jaguar F-Type.

Things aren't quite as exciting when you crawl inside but at least the Suzuki Swift's interior is laid out intuitively so you'll have no trouble figuring out what each dial and knob does. Sadly you can't say the same about the included 7-inch touchscreen All but entry-level models come standard. Sure it comes standard with smartphone mirroring but it's nowhere near as visually appealing or easy to use as the systems found in the Skoda Fabia or the Volkswagen Polo
The hard plastics that dot the Suzuki Swift's cabin are also a little less expensive than most alternatives but at least they're durable and should withstand years of abuse
The Swift's fabric seats aren't particularly plush either but at least they're nice and supportive with plenty of room to stretch if you're tall. There's even enough room to carry three adults in the back - for fairly short trips At least. You can't say the same about the Suzuki Swift's rather small boot but it's roomy enough for a few small suitcases and a few extra soft bags.
The party work of the Suzuki Swift is where the joy of driving lies. If that's an important consideration for you the Swift is a budget hatchback well worth considering.

Regardless the Suzuki Swift isn't the kind of car you'd be riding on a long weekend road trip.
You're more likely to visit the store or cruise around town on your way to work. In these areas it performed very well. Large windows and relatively upright seats give you a Visibility is excellent and the Swift's small size and light steering help make parking easy.
Its slightly firmer suspension doesn't do a good job of smoothing out bumps around town but it's one of the main reasons the Suzuki Swift is so fun to drive on twisty country trails. Unlike many flick hatchbacks you can toss the Swift from a corner Another worry about tires losing grip or over-rolling the body
The turbocharged one-liter engine isn't the fastest but its lively character makes the Swift feel a bit like an old-school hot hatch on a twisty road. The 1.2-liter model isn't quite as fast but it's cheaper and a little more economical to buy. If running costs is your main concern you can have both engines with a hybrid system which helps save fuel when you're driving around town.
Sadly a few other features that help make city-centre driving easier such as autonomous emergency braking -- are only standard on top-spec cars but you shouldn't let that put you off. The Suzuki Swift is still a very good compact hatchback It's cheap to buy economical to run and still fun to drive.
