The company also hopes to introduce a plug-in hybrid version of the Tucson, which would be very efficient and save fuel. In the meantime, the gasoline version should return 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The Hyundai Tucson also earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick Plus award for safety.
