Home
Mercedes-Benz has maintained a close visual similarity between its EQ electric models and this is most evident in its interior.

The German brand has revealed the cabin of the EQE SUV ahead of its world debut on October 16 which is almost identical to

At over 141 cm wide it features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster a 17.7-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen.

There are also turbo-like exterior vents a separate center console and a "floating control cluster" for seat controls and door handles on the door panels.

Mercedes-Benz says the interior of the EQE SUV is available in "five coordinated color combinations" featuring a range of warm and cool tones.

There are also wood and aluminum elements on the center console and a backlit laser-cut three-point star trim element.

While Mercedes-Benz has now shown official images of the interior of the EQE SUV we haven't seen outside images other than spy shots of the prototype.

The EQE SUV will be the fourth model based on Mercedes-Benz's dedicated Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) after the EQS EQE and EQS SUV.

In short think of the EQE SUV as an all-electric alternative to the combustion-powered GLE.

The EQE SUV is expected to mirror the drivetrain and battery specifications of the existing EQE sedan.

Currently the mid-size electric sedan is offered as the EQE 350 with a 215kW electric motor driving the rear wheels.

Next up is the AMG EQE 43 4Matic which has two electric motors with all-wheel drive and a total system output of 250kW and 858Nm.

The flagship AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ sedan is also powered by a twin-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain but produces a total system output of 505kW and 1000Nm of torque when the AMG Dynamic Plus package is selected.

A high-performance AMG version of the EQE SUV is expected and has previously been spotted in prototype form near the Nurburgring.

All current EQE sedan models are equipped with a 90.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack which according to WLTP tests has a range of between 518km and 660km depending on the model.

Expect the EQE SUV to have less range as the EQS SUV has less range than the EQS hatchback in part due to its more upright aerodynamic body.

It's not clear what the dimensions of the EQE SUV will be but it is expected to be around 5 meters long as the EQE sedan measures 4,946mm while the larger EQS SUV measures 5,125mm.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV will be built alongside the GLS and GLE at the German automaker's Tuscaloosa Alabama plant along with the EQS SUV using a "state-of-the-art facility in Bibb County." Battery.

The increase in battery production comes after Mercedes-Benz announced it will go fully electrified by 2030 where market conditions permit.

According to reports the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV could be a key model for the German automaker as production of the current EQC ends in 2023.

The EQC is the brand's first EQ family electric vehicle derived from the outgoing GLC.

It's unclear if there will be a second-generation EQC which could mean the EQE SUV may have to pick up the slack before the second-generation model launches.

GLE

From 2025 Mercedes-Benz will offer three all-electric architectures.

This will be complemented by AMG.EA for high-performance vehicles and VAN.EA which will form the basis for vans and light commercial vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz will also introduce an "electric-first" MMA small car platform in 2024.
